Anyways, you know they are screwy when they cover themselves in pig blood and roll around naked on a public sidewalk.
|
More actually, last year.
They got 2300+ animals and kept a total of 7 alive.

...damnit.
I know it's hard to find homes for animals, and that most animal shelters have to put pets down anyway.

But if they're getting statistics like that, it might be a pretty good idea for them to get their priorities straight. I'm sort of fond of animals myself - can't keep any, not allowed - so this is just - argh. (I knew it already, sort of. But that's way beyond 90%.)

This is completely wrong!
It is actually 83%, and here is the kicker, only 13% of the money they raise gos to their shelters, the rest is used in advertisements and lobbyists for the banning of pets.

You know whats the problem? The problem is the two sides viewpoints
PETA probably takes that pets that have problems relating to finding a home to disformities as pets that need to be euthanized. They think that these animals are treated as humane forms of killing them off.
Where as the people who look at this say this, "THIS ISN'T HUMANE". killing animals or in general "killing" is evil.
My opinion is that there are just two levels of complete nonsense. Is it rational to kill animals that can't be adopted or irrational. Should the animals be set into the wilderness? I know for a fact that that is reckless, who don't know the effects of the ecosystem that might happen (Look at cases where animals in the food chain got extinct that made devastation).
As humans, assuming we are rational what is rational in this case? Is our emotions getting the best of us (Look at the anti-peta-group).
So let me give you an answer to this controversial question by asking a question. Are you being rational or emotional? Rational meaning looking at the disadvantages and advantages killing these animals or emotional meaning your feelings should be the equivalent to the feelings of these animals.
As for me!! Don't take me as with or against peta. I just look at the ends of the table, before I buy into it. In that case I don't buy into it.
-Edit-
Or do you guys just want to get into a group and cause terrorism to PETA.

I do know that many animals end up being put to sleep for one reason or another, and that shelters cannot house every animal. That's the practical way of it. And I also think that had it been another animal rights group less... enthusiastic... than PETA, this reaction would not be happening.
PETA talks about renaming fish 'Sea Kittens' because that will supposedly reduce the number of people who want to eat fish. They put up an entire webpage with Sea Kitten stories related to it. They have little online games. In other words, they've set themselves up as staunch defenders of animalkind, and all of us non-vegan people are vile creatures against them.
It's not about "ANIMALS SHOULD NOT BE KILLED!"
It's the fact that PETA isn't practising what it preaches. If you wish to set yourself up as a Champion of the Animal Kingdom, then you have to make sure people see you as such. PETA is not giving that impression. They're complaining about fur, and fishing, and KFC... and then stats about them euthanizing animals crops up. I rather imagine that goes directly against their image.

These PETA guys are really really idiotic. Instead of trying to help all those people who do need helping like those under the poverty line in africa or other 3rd world countries or victims of calamities, they channel their efforts in trying to "help" animals. The "help" they offer is not even good most of the time and they just end up alienating many people because of their hard-core fanaticism.
They should be getting angry and at least trying to prevent people from abandoning their pets in the first place right?
F--king PETA, those bastards are screwed up versions of humans.

off course not, you are not the vice president of the united states of america. leader should be examplary.
I got my dog from breeder too, but I am not going to criticize PETA just because they are using the media to their advantage in spreading the word that shelter animals need home too. Its the perfect opportunity, any advertiser would seize the opportunity. Like my previous post says, if people can use the puppy to make money, the vice president is using the puppy to get media attention, so can PETA, they are all in the same boat, so why you criticize one and not all of them?. The only party that loose out is the puppy.

You never really hear on the news what happens to the people who call in death threats to others. Hopefully they are found and punished with jail time.

This isn't a matter of being emotional or rational. PETA goes batshit insane when someone does something they don't like to an animal, but they kill animals themselves in a "humane way". There is no humane way to kill, they are just being hypocrites. There is no other reason to kill animals other than food and self defense.
